Each October, we participate in Make A Difference Day, a national event sponsored by USA WEEKEND and Points of Light.
During the 24-hour event, our members engaged in a variety of volunteer activities that culminated on Sunday, October 23 in a pasta dinner fundraiser for Veterans Outreach Center of Rochester.

This year’s proceeds went to Veterans Outreach Center. Their mission is to provide comprehensive resources to current and former members of the U.S. Armed Forces and their families through direct service, community collaboration, and advocacy.
Starting at midnight on October 22nd, Fairport Rotarians distributed coffee and baked goods to night shift service workers such as ambulance EMTs, fire fighters and police officers. Our volunteers were rained out of a morning work-detail to work on the High Acres Nature Area Trail and to beautify the area. We're looking forward to another chance to make a difference at High Acres in the spring of 2017.
On Sunday, October 23rd, we held our annual Pasta Dinner (information above). The pasta dinner was a great way for the community to come together to support a worthy cause.
Make A Difference Day: we couldn’t think of a better way to live Rotary’s motto: “Service Above Self.”
